Moonridge Maine Coons Health Guarantee
Your Maine Coon kitten from Moonridge Maine Coons is guaranteed against serious hereditary defects until 12 months of age. This guarantee applies to genetic conditions that severely affect the kitten’s quality of life or require euthanasia, as confirmed by a licensed veterinarian. In such rare circumstances, a replacement kitten of equal value will be offered when available, provided our cattery is still in operation.
To qualify, the buyer must provide written medical documentation from a licensed veterinarian confirming the hereditary condition. We reserve the right to have the diagnosis reviewed by our veterinarian. Transportation, veterinary expenses, and related costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
Definition of Hereditary Defect
A hereditary defect refers to a condition passed genetically from parent to offspring. These are inherited through genes and are not caused by injury, environment, improper care, or other non-genetic factors.
1. Vaccinations and General Health
Each kitten will have received age-appropriate vaccinations and preventive care prior to going home. You are responsible for completing the remaining vaccination schedule, booster shots, and maintaining regular veterinary care. This guarantee does not cover illnesses or infections that occur after the kitten leaves our care, including but not limited to upper respiratory infections, parasites, or other contagious diseases, as these can be influenced by environmental exposure.
2. Veterinary Care and Expenses
Moonridge Maine Coons is not responsible for veterinary expenses incurred after the kitten leaves our cattery. We do not reimburse for medical treatments, medications, or procedures. All sales are considered final. However, we remain committed to supporting our families with guidance and advice whenever possible.
3. Owner Responsibilities
The buyer agrees to provide proper care, nutrition, housing, and routine veterinary attention to maintain the kitten’s health. Proper socialization, training, and overall wellbeing become the responsibility of the new owner once the kitten leaves our cattery.
4. Initial Veterinary Examination
Your kitten must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of arrival. Failure to complete this exam may void this health guarantee. This initial visit ensures your kitten is transitioning well and establishes veterinary care with your chosen clinic.

This health guarantee does not cover:
-
Conditions caused by injury, neglect, accidents, or improper care
-
Failure to provide routine veterinary care
-
Costs related to spaying or neutering
